NJDOT proposing to amend rules
on the Airport Safety Fund program
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is proposing to amend N.J.A.C. 16:56, Airport Safety Fund Program. This chapter implements the Airport Safety, Security and Improvement Act, N.J.S.A. 6:1-89 et seq. The Act mandates that the Department establish programs of financial assistance to improve general aviation airports and facilities, and to promote aviation and aviation safety. The rules provide standards for grants and loans that fund projects and programs for general aviation airports, enterprises located at the airport, counties, municipalities, and other political subdivisions of the State, and other persons and entities that may qualify for aid.
The proposed amendments appear in the October 7, 2013 issue of the New Jersey Register. The public has until December 6, 2013 to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing to Miriam Weeks, Administrative Practice Officer, NJ Department of Transportation, P.O. Comments submitted to the Department on the proposed rulemaking are public records and are available for public inspection by prior appointment during normal Department business hours.
