Department of Transportation proposing
to amend rules on Highway Occupancy Permits
(Trenton) – The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing to amend N.J.A.C. 16:41C, Highway Occupancy Permits. These rules establish the procedures for filing applications to obtain permits for the performance of work over, under or within any portion of State highway right-of-way or property under the jurisdiction of the Department. Permits also are necessary for the initiation of activities that may interfere with the free and safe movement of normal traffic on the State highway system.
The proposed amendments appear in the July 7, 2014 issue of the New Jersey Register. The public has until September 5, 2014 to comment on the proposal. Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing and may do so using any one of a variety of delivery options, including a new online comment form. Send comments to:
