Fletcher Avenue and Lemoine Avenue ramps
to Palisades Parkway northbound closed tonight
Traffic will be detoured onto Route 9W
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the ramps from Fletcher Avenue and Lemoine Avenue to the Palisades Interstate Parkway northbound will be closed tonight as milling and paving operations continue.
At 10 p.m. Tuesday night, July 22 until 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, NJDOT’s contractor, Tilcon New York Inc., is scheduled to close the ramps from Fletcher Avenue and Lemoine Avenue to allow the milling and paving of the left lane of the Palisades Parkway in the northbound direction.
Motorists will be directed to Route 9W to Palisades Avenue, where they can get back on the Palisades Parkway.
The work is part of the $11.2 million, state-funded project that will resurface the parkway and the three scenic overlooks, and repair 13 bridge decks as needed. Although the Palisades Parkway is not a NJDOT road—it is owned and maintained by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission—NJDOT has stepped up to repair the road which is in unacceptable condition, particularly after the severe winter.
Motorists are advised to be alert for lane closures and traffic shifts, and are urged to drive safely and slowly through the construction zone.
Variable message signs will notify motorists of the traffic pattern changes. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information. |
