Department of Transportation schedules a public hearing on proposed amendments to regulations on roadside sign control and outdoor advertising
(Trenton) – The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing to re-adopt with amendments N.J.A.C. 16:41C, Roadside Sign Control and Outdoor Advertising. This chapter establishes standards and requirements and provides for the issuing of licenses and permits for roadside signs and outdoor advertising and the establishment, use, maintenance and removal of such signs.
The amendments include the addition of a scope; updating of contact information; revised definitions; reorganized rule text; revised license fees, restrictions related to the New Jersey Turnpike and permit provisions; added procedures for name change or ownership transfer fees; revised provisions for off-premise, on-premise signs and multiple message signs; and removal procedures.
The Department has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed re-adoption with amendments, at which time public comments on the proposal will be accepted. The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, from 9:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Multipurpose Room, NJ Department of Transportation Main Office Building, 1035 Parkway Avenue, Trenton, New Jersey.
Comments submitted to the Department on the proposed rulemaking are public records and are available for public inspection by prior appointment during normal Department business hours. |
