Emergency reparis require full closure overnight
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced Route 130 northbound will be closed between the Brooklawn Circle and Old Salem Road while PSE&G makes emergency repairs to its gas line.
The work will require a full closure of Route 130 northbound overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning beginning Saturday, October 4. A single lane will remain closed between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. as PSE&G crews work 24 hours a day, seven days a week until the repairs are complete. It is possible the repair will require a full closure of the northbound lanes during the day. The work will not affect the southbound lanes and is expected to take approximately two weeks.
The following detour will be in place:
- Motorists will be directed to Creek Road to Old Salem Road to Route 130 northbound.
PSE&G is working with NJDOT as well as local officials, businesses, and residents to minimize the impact on the community. Dynamic message signs will be deployed to alert motorists of the upcoming traffic pattern changes and local police will be on site to help direct traffic.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
