Ramps between Route 1 and I-295/I-95
to be
closed for maintenance in Lawrence, Mercer County
Temporary detours will be in place the next two weekends
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced several ramps between Route 1 and I-295/I-95 will be closed for routine maintenance over the next two weekends in Lawrence, Mercer County.
Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, October 17, 2014, through 9 a.m. Saturday, October 18, the ramp from Route 1 southbound to I-95 southbound toward Pennsylvania will be closed, while NJDOT’s contractor, Nagi Construction, makes repairs to the deck, joints, and curbs, and a corrosion inhibitor is applied to the deck. The work, which will extend the life of the ramp, also includes repairs to the abutment walls and piers.
Motorists on Route 1 southbound will be directed to Franklin Corner Road/CR 546 to Princeton Pike/CR 583 to I-95 southbound.
Next Weekend – October 24
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014, through 9 a.m. Saturday, October 25, the ramp from I-95 northbound/I-295 southbound to Route 1 will be closed while Nagi Construction makes similar repairs to the ramp as it did on the other ramp the week before.
Motorists coming from Pennsylvania on I-95 northbound/I-295 southbound will be directed to Sloan Avenue/CR 649 to I-295 northbound to Route 1.
Variable message signs will notify motorists of the traffic pattern changes. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
