Bridge repairs to be rescheduled

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the cancellation of the emergency bridge repair work scheduled for this weekend to the Route 3 bridge in East Rutherford due to forecasts of dangerous winds.

Repairs were planned for Saturday night into Sunday that would have necessitated the closure of all Route 3 eastbound lanes over the Hackensack River between East Rutherford and Secaucus. Wind gusts are predicted this weekend as high as 55 MPH creating extremely hazardous conditions for work crews.

Once the repair work is rescheduled, NJDOT will inform the public.
