I-80 lane closures
to start Monday in Morris County
Overnight closures will take place for repaving
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced a series of weekday overnight lane closures starting next week for a resurfacing project on I-80 between Route 46/ Ledgewood Avenue in Roxbury and CR 654/Cherry Hill Road in Parsippany, Morris County.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, until 6 a.m. the next day NJDOT contractor, Della Pello Paving, Inc. is scheduled to close two lanes on I-80 for milling and paving. The work will occur Monday through Thursday evenings from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day, and Friday evenings to Saturday mornings from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Construction will begin on the eastbound lanes, which is expected to be completed this summer. Once the eastbound lanes are complete, work will move to the westbound lanes. The project is expected to be completed in the fall.
The work is part of a $12.8 million, federally-funded project that will resurface I-80 travel lanes, shoulders and ramps using a one-inch thick high performance overlay.
Variable message signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the I-80 repaving project.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check
NJDOT's traffic information website, www.511nj.org, for real-time travel information and plan their trips accordingly. |
