Railroad-crossing repairs announced in Far Hills
Necessary safety work will require road closures on Route 202
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced a planned NJ Transit repair project that will require a week long closure of Route 202 in Far Hills, Somerset County while repairs are performed on the railroad crossing..
The existing railroad crossing will be removed and replaced with a new concrete crossing with new asphalt approaches. Route 202 will be closed from Thursday, May 7 at 9:00 a.m. through Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m.
The following signed detour will be in place and coordinated with the local police:
Northbound traffic on Route 202:
Right on Liberty Corner Road
Left on Douglas Road
Left on Old Mine Brook Road
Left on Whitenack Road
Right on Route 202
Southbound traffic on Route 202:
Left on Whitenack Road
Right on Old Mine Brook Road
Right on Douglas Road
Right on Liberty Corner Road
Left on Route 202
Access will be maintained to residential properties and businesses on either side of the rail line. If the work is completed earlier, the roadway will be reopened accordingly. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
