Department of Transportation proposing
repeal and new rules on Utility Accommodation

(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing notice of repeal and new rules at N.J.A.C. 16:25, Utility Accommodation. These rules govern utilities, including pipelines, overhead power and communications lines, and underground electric power and communications lines.  The chapter contains standards and requirements for utility accommodation on Department right-of-way.

The notice appears in the August 3, 2015 issue of the New Jersey Register.  The public has until October 2, 2015 to comment on the proposal.  Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing and may do so using any one of a variety of delivery options, including an online comment form. Comments must be postmarked, sent by fax, email, or submitted online on or before October 2, 2015, which is the close of the 60-day public comment period.

Comments submitted to the Department on the proposed rulemaking are public records and are available for public inspection by prior appointment during normal Department business hours.
