I-80 westbound closures after

weekend in Warren County
Temporary lane and ramp
closures
required for resurfacing project
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced lane, ramp, and shoulder closures on I-80 westbound starting after Labor Day weekend for approximately 12 miles of milling and paving work in Warren County.
Beginning on Tuesday, September 8 and continuing through the fall of 2015, NJDOT’s contractor, Joseph Defino Trucking Co., Inc. is scheduled to temporarily close single lanes, ramps, and shoulders along I-80 westbound beginning near CR 519 in Hope Township to just east of Interchange 1 in Hardwick Township. The repaving project is a moving operation that will take place during day and evening hours. Vehicles attempting to take ramps within the project limits will at times be required to use a detour during the hours of construction.
DETOUR ROUTE:
- Vehicles approaching temporarily closed ramps for resurfacing will be directed with detour signs to the next available ramp.
The I-80 westbound Resurfacing Project in Warren County is a $7.7 million federal- and state-funded project estimated to be completed by the end of the year. NJDOT has designed the resurfacing work to be performed as a moving operation, closing only one lane of the roadway at a time, allowing for traffic flow through the area to minimize impact to motorists. There will be some ramp work requiring closures, resulting in detours.
Variable message signs and detour signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the resurfacing project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road or ramp closures.
