proposing readoption, new rules
and repeals on Highway Occupancy Permits

(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proposing notice of readoption, new rules and repeals at N.J.A.C. 16:41, Highway Occupancy Permits. These rules establish the procedures for filing applications to obtain permits for the performance of work over, under or within any portion of State highway right-of-way or property under the jurisdiction of the Department. Permits also are necessary for the initiation of activities that may interfere with the free and safe movement of normal traffic on the State highway system.

The notice appears in the September 8, 2015 issue of the New Jersey Register. The public has until November 7, 2015 to comment on the proposal.  Persons wishing to comment on the proposal must provide their comments in writing and may do so using any one of a variety of delivery options, including an online comment form. Comments must be postmarked, sent by fax, email, or submitted online on or before November 7, 2015, which is the close of the 60-day public comment period.

Comments submitted to the Department on the proposed rulemaking are public records and are available for public inspection by prior appointment during normal Department business hours.
