Route 18 southbound lane closures scheduled this week in New Brunswick
Bridge deck repairs require overnight lane closures
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced overnight lane closures on Route 18 southbound this week for bridge deck maintenance in New Brunswick, Middlesex County.
Starting tonight Monday, October 19, and continuing each night this week from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning, NJDOT’s regional maintenance crews will close two lanes on Route 18 southbound for concrete bridge deck repairs on the John A. Lynch Sr. Memorial Bridge over the Raritan River. The work will take place before the George Street/College Ave Campus exit in New Brunswick and is expected to be completed by Saturday, October 24. The lane closures will alternate nightly between two right lanes and two left lanes leaving one lane open at all times, depending on the maintenance work scheduled.
Portable and overhead variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the motoring public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work.
