Repairs and improvements to
Route 166
in Toms River begin next week
Road widening project will require traffic shifts
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the start of improvements to Route 166 in Toms River.
On Monday, March 28, NJDOT Contractor, New Prince Concrete will shift traffic on Route 166 to permit drainage work on the southbound side. Southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound side of Route 166 allowing for one lane of traffic in each direction while work is performed from approximately Colfax Street to just past the intersection with CR 623/Old Freehold Road (milepost 1.63 to 2.35). The temporary lane shift is expected to last three days.
This project will include drainage improvements, utility work, and milling and paving to permit widening of this portion of Route 166.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
