NJDOT reopens Port Murray Road bridge in Mansfield
Completed emergency repairs ensures the safety of the bridge
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the completion and reopening of the Port Murray Road Bridge in Mansfield, Warren County.
On Monday May 16, NJDOT’s contractor, Berto Construction reopened all travel lanes on Port Murray Road between Hoffman Road and Brickyard Road after completing emergency construction to replace a concrete wingwall on the approach to the bridge that spans active rail lines. Drainage improvements were also included in the project.
The emergency bridge work, which began in March 2016 was coordinated by NJDOT with county, and local officials, as well as the rail operators. The Department designed the project to make the repairs as quickly as possible to minimize the impact on traffic during the closure. There is some striping and ancillary work that is expected to be done without affecting traffic.
