Route 1&9 northbound this weekend
in Elizabeth as manhole work continues
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced that lanes on Route 1&9 northbound in Elizabeth would be closed overnight to allow PSE&G to install two manholes.
From 7:00 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 3 through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, contractor, JF Creamer and Sons will close the shoulder, the right lane and the center lane on Route 1&9 northbound in Elizabeth from Elizabeth Avenue to Spring Street - mile 44.14 to MP 45.44. The closure will allow for the installation of two underground electric manholes.
Variable message signs and lane closure signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the deck replacement project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures.
