Paterson Plank Road north
to be closed Wednesday in Secaucus
Traffic to be detoured during closure to
repair Paterson Plank Road Bridge over Route 3
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced Paterson Plank Road northbound will be closed on Wednesday as the project to repair the Paterson Plank Road bridge over Route 3 in Secaucus advances.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Paterson Plank Road northbound will be closed just before Route 3 to pour new concrete for the bridge deck. Traffic will be directed to Route 3 westbound, under the New Jersey Turnpike to the Secaucus exit to Paterson Plank Road. Construction will not affect Paterson Plank Road southbound traffic.
The right lane of the Paterson Plank Road northbound bridge over Route 3 has been closed since February 2015 when a tractor trailer traveling on Route 3 struck the overpass. Temporary repairs were made at that time. This project to permanently replace the damaged steel beam and reconstruct the right northbound lane of the Paterson Plank Road Bridge over Route 3 began on March 29, 2016.
