NJDOT announces
emergency
repairs on Route 72 in LBI
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced emergency repairs to Route 72 eastbound to repair a collapsed pipe in Ship Bottom, Ocean County. Motorists should expect congestion and delays.
Starting immediately, NJDOT’s contractor, Mount Construction, will begin emergency repairs to Route 72 eastbound in Ship Bottom. The work will require opening the road and replacing a collapsed drainage pipe.
Travel lanes are shifted to the right until tomorrow, Saturday, August 20, morning. Travel lanes will then be shifted to the left to complete repairs. Two lanes will be maintained at all time. NJDOT expects the repairs to be completed by Sunday.
Variable message signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the interchange improvements project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures.
