I-287 northbound overnight lane closures
starting tonight in Somerset County
Resurfacing project will take several nights to complete
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the start of resurfacing work requiring lane closures on I-287 northbound in Bedminster, Somerset County.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the next morning, beginning tonight Tuesday, October 18 and continuing every evening until Friday, October 28, NJDOT’s Contractor Schifano Construction Corp., is scheduled to close two lanes on I-287 northbound between mile post 21.2 near the Route 78 interchange and mile post 23.0 near Schley Mountain Road in Bedminster for milling, paving, and the reconstruction of inlets. These temporary overnight lane closures will be removed on a daily basis.
In order to minimize the impact on traffic, lane closures for the resurfacing of I-287 northbound are being coordinated with the lane closures required for the on-going I-287/I-78/Route 202/Route 206 Interchange Improvements project.
Motorists should expect overnight delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes. If work is completed earlier, the roadways will be reopened accordingly.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weatheror other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
