I-78 westbound pothole repairs will close
lanes
in Somerset County over the next two nights
Project will repair road that was affected by recent weather
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced lane closures on I-78 westbound in Bedminster, Bridgewater, Bernards & Warren Township, Somerset County to allow for pothole repairs to the road surface.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, January 26, until 5 a.m. Friday, January 27, and again at 9 p.m. Friday, January 27, until 5 a.m. Saturday, January 28, NJDOT’s contractor, Schifano Corporation, will close the two right lanes on I-78 westbound from mile makers 29 in Bridgewater to 42 in Warren Township. The closures will allow crews to mill and repair portions of the roadway that have been damaged due to the unusual freeze and thaw temperatures and precipitation that have been experienced this winter.
Variable message signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the bridge replacement project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info. |
