Bridge deck repairs require temporary overnight

(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced high priority bridge deck repairs requiring temporary overnight ramp closure from I-80 eastbound to Route 46 eastbound in Ridgefield Park, Bergen County.
Starting tonight Tuesday, April 4 at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day, and continuing weeknights for approximately one week or until completion, NJDOT is scheduled to close the ramp on I-80 eastbound to Route 46 eastbound in Ridgefield Park to make high priority bridge deck repairs. The work is anticipated to be completed within a week and will require a local detour. The following detour will be in place.
I-80 eastbound to Route 46 eastbound detour
- Motorists on I-80 eastbound will be direct to take the Route 46 westbound/Ridgefield Park exit
- From Route 46 westbound/Winant Avenue, motorists will make a right onto Main Street.
- Continue on Main Street and bear left at the first triangle intersection (Main Street bypass) and follow detour signs underneath Route 46.
- Continue on Main Street bypass and make the first left turn at the next triangle intersection back onto Route 46 eastbound/NJ Turnpike.
Variable message signs and lane closure signs will be utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the deck repairs project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures.
