Route 22 westbound ramp to I-78 westbound closure for emergency repairs in Hunterdon County
Roadway repairs require temporary highway ramp closure
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the emergency closure of the Route 22 westbound ramp to I-78 westbound in Clinton, Hunterdon County.
Starting tomorrow at 4 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, NJDOT is scheduled to close the ramp on Route 22 westbound to I-78 westbound (mile marker 19.25) in Clinton to allow for repairs to roadway. The work is anticipated to be completed by the afternoon and will require a local detour. The following detour will be in place.
Route 22 westbound to I-78 westbound detour
- Motorists on Route 22 westbound will be direct to bear right and take the Annandale exit onto Beaver Avenue
- Motorists will continue on Beaver Avenue/CR626, and make a left onto Old Highway22 for Route 22/I-78/Route 31 South
- Continue on Old Highway 22 back onto Route 22 westbound/I-78 westbound/Phillipsburg.
Variable message signs and lane closure signs will be utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of any traffic pattern changes associated with the repairs project.
