I-78 eastbound ramp to Routes 1 & 9 southbound to close overnight for electrical work
Traffic will be detoured for two nights in Newark
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced overnight closures this week of the ramp from I-78 eastbound to Routes 1 & 9 southbound in Newark.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday, April 27 until 5 a.m. the next morning, and again on Friday, April 28, NJDOT’s contractor, Daidone Electric will close the ramp from I-78eastbound to Routes 1 & 9 southbound to perform electrical work.
Traffic attempting to access Routes 1 & 9 southbound will be detoured to Exit 58B to Routes 1 & 9 northbound, then to the Frontage Road exit and back onto Routes 1 & 9 southbound.
Portable Variable Message Signs and detour signing will be utilized to direct motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with this electrical work.
