Route 29 southbound ramp to Lalor Street
to be closed for rescheduled
tunnel maintenance in Trenton
Daytime detour in place this week
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced rescheduled Route 29 tunnel maintenance requiring the temporary ramp closure from Route 29 southbound to Lalor Street in Trenton, Mercer County.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, May 16, NJDOT is scheduled to close the shoulder on Route 29 southbound and the Route 29 southbound ramp to Lalor Street in Trenton for ramp pavement work. From 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. the right lane on Route 29 southbound also will be closed.
In addition, beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 and continuing until Friday, May 19, the shoulder on Route 29 southbound and the Route 29 southbound ramp to Lalor Street in Trenton will be closed for continued pavement work. The following local ramp detour will be in place.
Route 29 southbound to Lalor Street detour
• Motorists on Route 29 southbound will continue on Route 29 to the South Lamberton Road/Duck Island exit
• Continue on South Lamberton Road, and make a left on Canal Boulevard/Route 129 northbound.
• Continue on Route 129 northbound until the first traffic light intersection with Lalor Street.
Variable message signs and lane closure signs will be utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the tunnel maintenance project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures.
