Route 46 westbound ramps at Fairfield Road closed
for emergency repairs in Wayne
Structural bridge and roadway repairs
require highway ramp closures
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the emergency closure of the two ramps between Route 46 westbound and Fairfield Road in Wayne, Passaic County.
Effective immediate, Thursday, August 3, and remaining in place until further notice, NJDOT has closed the ramp from Route 46 westbound to Fairfield Road and the adjacent ramp from Fairfield Road to Route 46 westbound in Wayne to allow for structural bridge and roadway repairs on the access road between Route 46 westbound and Fairfield Road resulting from severe weather conditions. The following detours will be in place:
Route 46 westbound to Fairfield Road Detour:
- Route 46 westbound motorists will be directed to use the next exit for Two Bridges Road/CR613, follow over the Passaic River back to Fairfield Road.
Fairfield Road to Route 46 westbound Detour:
- Fairfield Road motorists will be directed to Two Bridges Road/CR 613, follow over the Passaic River to Route 46 westbound.
Variable message signs will be utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of any traffic pattern changes associated with the repair project.
