Temporary repairs being made this afternoon
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced lane closures on I-78 westbound this weekend for emergency pothole repairs in Bridgewater, Somerset County.
This afternoon NJDOT crews are making temporary repairs to potholes that have developed in the left and center lanes on I-78 westbound prior to Exit 29/I-287.
Beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow, or as soon as the weather permits on Saturday, December 16, NJDOT’s contractor Schifano Construction Corp., will close the left and center lanes on I-78 westbound for a two-mile stretch between Exit 33 in Warren Township and Exit 29 in Bridgewater to make permanent repairs. The repairs are expected to take approximately eight hours.
The right shoulder will be used to maintain two lanes travel lanes while the repairs are being made. Motorists can expect congestion on I-78 westbound during construction and are advised to plan extra time, particularly those heading to Bridgewater Commons Mall or other shops in the area.
