Route 4 overnight lane closures begin this weekend for maintenance resurfacing in Bergen County
Lane closures will continue until complete
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the start of a maintenance resurfacing project on Route 4 that will require overnight lane closures as needed between Paramus and Fair Lawn in Bergen County.
Beginning at 9 p.m., tonight, Friday, March 23 until 5 a.m. the next day, and continuing from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for several nights until completion, NJDOT’s contractor, Schifano Construction Corp., is scheduled to close a right and center lane on Route 4, beginning west of the Route 208 interchange in Fair Lawn (mile post 1.7) and continuing until just east of Forrest Avenue in Paramus (mile post 5.0) for milling and paving of the roadway. The work will progress from Fairlawn to Paramus each night until complete.
At least one lane will be maintained throughout construction. The work is being coordinated with local police and will be done overnight to minimize disruptions to traffic and businesses through this corridor.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weatheror other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
