Routes 1&9 temporary overnight lane closures to begin
next week for resurfacing in Middlesex and Union Counties
Lane closures will continue until complete
(Trenton) -New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the restart of a maintenance resurfacing project on Routes 1&9 that will require overnight lane closures as needed between Woodbridge, Middlesex County and Linden, Union County.
Beginning at 8 p.m., Monday, April 30 until 6 a.m. the next day, and continuing weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day for approximately two months, NJDOT’s contractor, Black Rock Enterprises, is scheduled to close one lane on Routes 1&9 in each direction, beginning near Production Way in Woodbridge and continuing until just north of Dennis Place in Linden for milling and paving of the roadway. The work will progress from Woodbridge, through Rahway to Linden each night until complete.
At least one lane will be maintained throughout construction. The work is being coordinated with local police and will be done overnight to minimize disruptions to traffic and businesses through this corridor.
