Route 82/Morris Avenue overnight lane closures begin tonight for gas main replacement in Union County
(Trenton) -New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced overnight lane closures on Route 82/Morris Avenue between Suburban Road and Midland Boulevard in Union for gas main replacement.
Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow, and again overnight on Friday, June 22 and Monday, June 25, Elizabethtown Gas contractor Penn Bower, Inc., is scheduled to shift traffic on Route 82 in both directions. Each night, the contractor will first close the left lanes in both directions shifting traffic to the curb line. The contractor will then close the right lanes, shifting traffic back to the center lanes in both directions. The traffic shifts are necessary to allow the gas company to install a new gas main. At least one lane in both directions will be maintained at all times.
For more information on the gas main replacement, reach out to Elizabethtown Gas.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
