Easton Avenue ramp to I-287 northbound closure required for bridge repairs in Somerset County
Overnight detours necessary for start of bridge maintenance
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the overnight closure and detour of the Easton Avenue / CR 527 northbound ramp to I-287 northbound for the start of bridge maintenance repairs in Franklin, Somerset County.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, October 22 until 5 a.m. the next day, and continuing weeknights for the next several weeks, NJDOT’s contractor Power Concrete Co., Inc., is scheduled to temporarily close the Easton Avenue / CR 527 northbound ramp to I-287 northbound in Franklin to begin repairs on the bridge deck, joints and curb. Once work is completed nightly, traffic will resume in the morning. The following detour will be in place for the next several weeks.
Easton Avenue / CR527 northbound to I-287 northbound Detour:
- Motorists will be directed to continue northbound on Easton Avenue to the next U-Turn exit on the left for Morristown/Mahwah/I-287 northbound
- Continue onto I-287 northbound
The federally-funded Easton Avenue / CR527 to I-287 northbound bridge maintenance repairs project began in spring 2018 and is expected to be completed in early 2019.
Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures in order to minimize impacts to motorists.
