I-78 overnight lane closures required for emergency repairs

Two eastbound lane closures necessary for priority pavement repairs
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the overnight closure of two lanes on I-78 eastbound for emergency roadway repairs between Bernards Township and Warren Township in Somerset County.
Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, November 20, and continuing until 5 a.m. the next day, NJDOT’s contractor, Black Rock LLC., will close the center and right lanes on I-78 eastbound between the area near Somerville Road in Bernards Township and Liberty Corner Road/CR 525 in Warren Township for emergency repairs to the roadway. The highway has been identified as showing severe signs of rapid deterioration due to the recent freeze and thaw cycles. Motorists are advised to use caution.
Variable Message Signs will provide advance notification to motorists of the traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
