I-80 eastbound express lanes to be closed for water main repairs in Lodi
Overnight closures necessary for several nights
(Trenton) -New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced that the two express lanes on I-80 eastbound will be closed overnight for water main repairs under the River Avenue Lodi Bridge in Lodi, Bergen County.
Beginning at 8 p.m., Monday, December 3 until 5 a.m. the next day, and continuing for approximately two nights, the I-80 eastbound express lanes will be closed under the River Avenue Lodi Bridge as the Passaic Valley Water Commission investigates and repairs a misaligned eight-inch water main pipe. One local lane will remain open during the repair work.
As the repair progresses, two local lanes will be closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately three nights and all other lanes will be reopened.
Depending upon the engineering findings, additional closures on I-80 westbound may be required. The public will be notified prior to additional road closures. Road signs and variable message signs are on-site providing motorists advance notification of the road closures.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info or on the NJDOT Facebook page.
