Commercial Vehicle Travel Restrictions Lifted
on all Interstate highways
Use caution for possible flooding and slippery conditions
(Trenton) -New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced the Winter Weather Alert has been lifted and the NJ State Police announced the remaining commercial vehicle travel restriction will be lifted effective Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 10:00 p.m. for I-78, I-80, I-280, and I-287.
All vehicles previously listed in the restriction will be able to resume normal travel. We urge motorists to use caution, take it slow, and beware of black ice as temperatures fall tonight.
State Highways are wet, but in good condition, however motorists should stay vigilant as there could be slippery roadways, some flooding, and there may be patches of black ice. If you are driving tonight, use caution as road conditions may change quickly.
All precipitation is expected to end tonight and by early morning. Black ice and slippery conditions, particularly in the northern and western parts of the state, will be the main concern overnight and into early morning. Our crews will continue to work through the night to make sure roads are in good condition and treated as best as possible before the Wednesday morning commute.
Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news and updates follow us on the NJDOT Facebook page or on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
