Commercial Vehicle Travel Restrictions Lifted
on all Interstate highways as of 6 a.m.
Use caution as roads may be slippery
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced the NJ State Police announced the Commercial Vehicle Travel Restriction was lifted effective at 6 a.m. for all Interstate highways.
All vehicles previously listed in the restriction are able to resume normal travel. State Highways are wet, but in good condition. All precipitation has ended. However, motorists should stay vigilant as there could be slippery roadways. Our crews will continue to work to make sure roads are in good condition this morning.
If you are driving this morning, remember to clear snow and ice before you drive, plan extra travel time, and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles.
NJDOT will be using Variable Message Signs throughout the storm to provide updates. Once conditions improve, NJDOT will lift the Winter Weather Alert.
For winter weather and preparedness updates, motorists are encouraged to check the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management’s website, www.Ready.NJ.gov and NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
