Route 29 southbound/I-195 eastbound Exit 1A ramp to I-295 southbound to be closed for two nights for repairs in Hamilton
Right lane of ramp to be closed during the day on Wednesday
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced Route 29 southbound/I-195 eastbound Exit 1A ramp to I-295 southbound will be closed and detoured overnight on Thursday and Friday night for bridge repairs in Hamilton. In addition, the right lane on the ramp will be closed during the day on Wednesday.
From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20, NJDOT’s contractor, IEW Construction, will close the right lane of the Route 29 southbound/I-195 eastbound Exit 1A ramp to I-295 southbound to mobilize equipment in advance of the overnight closures.
On Thursday, March 21 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day and Friday, March 22, from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next day, NJDOT’s contractor, IEW Construction, will close and detour Route 29 southbound/I-195 eastbound Exit 1A ramp to I-295 southbound to make repairs to a bridge pier. The following detour in place.
Route 29 southbound/I-195 eastbound ramp to I-295 southbound detour:
- Motorists leaving Trenton on Route 29 and Route 129, which becomes I-195, wishing to take Exit 1A for I-295 southbound will be directed to continue on I-195 eastbound to Exit 1D/Route 206 northbound
- Cross over I-195 and take the loop ramp to I-195 westbound
- Take Exit 1A to I-295 southbound
Variable Message Signs will provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
