One Lane of traffic to utilize in Broadway Avenue to maintain capacity
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced a closure and detour of the right lane of Route 1&9 Truck southbound at Broadway Avenue in Jersey City for watermain work this weekend.
Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, July 12 until 12 noon, Sunday, July 14, NJDOT in conjunction with the Jersey City Municipal Utility Authority (JCMUA) is scheduled to close the right lane of Route 1&9 Truck southbound where the road curves to the left at Broadway Avenue just north of the Route 1&9T northbound jughandle. The closure affects a few hundred feet of Route 1&9T and will allow JCMUA to make watermain repairs.
In order to maintain capacity on the roadway, the right lane will be directed to continue onto Broadway Avenue under the Pulaski Skyway and make an immediately left turn and then a right turn at the traffic signal back onto Route 1&9T southbound. Route 1&9T northbound will not be affected.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
