Overview
The construction
on this project has
been completed. |
The
New Jersey Department
of Transportation (NJDOT)
is making improvements
to the ramp bridge over
Woodbridge Avenue (County
Route 514) and the
Route 440 northbound
bridge in Edison Township,
Middlesex County. This
project is funded under
the American
Reinvestment and Recovery
Act (ARRA)
and is scheduled for
completion in June 2010. |
|
The bridges are within
the interchange that connects
the New Jersey Turnpike
(Interchange 10) with I-287,
Route 440 and Woodbridge
Avenue (County Route 514).
The ramp bridge deck over
Woodbridge Avenue (County
Route 514) has been replaced.
The Route 440 northbound
deck and superstructure
over the ramp from Route
440 southbound to the New
Jersey Turnpike Toll Plaza
or to Woodbridge Avenue
(County Route 514) westbound
are being replaced with
a pre-cast system. The deck
replacement is scheduled
to be completed within sixteen
(16) days. A median crossover
from Route 440 northbound
to Route 440 southbound
will provide three lanes
in each direction for the
purpose of maintaining traffic
flow on Route 440. Opposing
lanes of travel are separated
by a concrete median barrier.
Ramp closings are required
to replace the existing
deck while ensuring public
safety. Detour
routes are
designated to maintain route
and trip continuity.
