NJDOT builds new ramp at
I-280/Garden State Parkway

The reconstruction of the I-280/Garden State Parkway Interchange 145 in East Orange began in September. "Investment in the structural and operational integrity of our aging infrastructure will ensure that New Jersey motorists can maintain safety and mobility in the years to come," said Commissioner Kris Kolluri. He said that the work will provide congestion relief and traffic safety.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation's $17 million rehabilitation project will improve travel through the interchange by eliminating dangerous backups during rush hours along the north- and southbound lanes on the Garden State Parkway (GSP) that lead to rear-end collisions. It will also improve access from the GSP to I-280 southbound.

A new, wider two-lane ramp from the GSP toll plaza to I-280 westbound will be built.
