The Route 183 Bridge
over New Jersey Transit
(NJT) and Netcong Circle
Replacement projects
will replace the structurally
deficient bridge
carrying
Route 183 over the
NJT railroad tracks
and the existing Netcong
Circle
with a signalized intersection.
The Netcong Circle
includes the intersection
of Route 183 with Route
46 and is located close
to the bridge. The
NJT railroad tracks
are located parallel
to and just north of
Route 46. The existing
bridge carrying Route
46 westbound over Route
183 southbound, located
between the NJT bridge
and circle, will be
demolished as part
of the bridge replacement. |

Project
limits along
Route 183 extend from
south of Helen Way (milepost
0.31) to the area of Maple Avenue
(milepost 0.69) north. Along
Route 46 it extends from east of
Main Street (milepost 30.08) to west
of Helen Way (milepost 30.31). Roadway
widening along both Routes 183 and
46 throughout the project
limits will incorporate
geometric (horizontal and vertical)
improvements including
the addition of sidewalks,
drainage and safety (guide
rail) improvements.
