Interstate 78 ramp bridge deck reopened over
Beaver Brook in Clinton Township
(Trenton) - NJDOT officials today announced that the newly reconstructed Interstate 78 westbound Exit 18 ramp over the Beaver Brook to CR 626 was reopened to traffic over the weekend in Clinton Township in Hunterdon County.
The overpass, which provides access from I-78 and Route 22 westbound to the Annandale section of Clinton, had been closed for reconstruction since the first week of June.
NJDOT’s contractor, Sparwick Contracting Inc., has replaced the existing, structurally deficient bridge deck, parapets and the sidewalk. The roadway approaches on either end of the ramp will be resurfaced and the existing guide rail has been upgraded. Additional drainage improvements and new sign installations are included in the $512,000 project as well. All construction operations are expected to wrap up this winter.
Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
