Route 30 fully reopened following completion of Blue Anchor Dam improvements project in Camden County
Dam improvements and bridge replacement completed

(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the completion and reopening of all lanes on Route 30 following safety improvement work on the Blue Anchor Dam and the replacement of the Route 30 Bridge in Winslow, Camden County.

The Blue Anchor Dam was constructed in 1926 and sits on the Blue Anchor Brook in Camden County surrounded by the Route 30 roadway embankment. The $7 million federally-funded Blue Anchor Dam project began in September 2015 and has been completed on time and on budget. The project included the replacement of the previous timber spillway with a concrete spillway that is capable of handling a 100-year storm event.

NJDOT also replaced the functionally obsolete bridge over the brook on Route 30 while providing eight foot wide shoulders along the roadway within the project limits. The project was designed to bring the Blue Anchor Dam into compliance with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Dam Safety Standards.
