Straight Line Diagrams

The New Jersey Department of Transportation's (NJDOT) 2015 Straight Line Diagrams (SLD) is a way to view roadways in a line format. The SLD network presents approximately 12,528 miles of State (Interstate, United States and New Jersey numbered roads), National Highway System (NHS), Surface Transportation Program (STP) and all County routes.

NJDOT is pleased to announce two new features available for use on the Internet:

The Automated Straight Line Diagrams allows users to customize pages and change the attributes that are displayed on the page. It shows a wider variety of data that is not displayed on the traditional Straight Line Diagrams which is currently provided in Portable Document Format (PDF).

The NJDOT Roadway VideoLog provides users with a windshield perspective of New Jersey’s roadways in a slide show format using digital imagery. The NJDOT Roadway VideoLog contains digital images of all State, Toll Authority and County roadways.

The Straight Line Diagrams are also available as PDF files. PDF files require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the files, which is available at our state Adobe Access page. The PDF file structure was designed to work while "online" therefore saving these PDF files to a desktop will cause the bookmarked links to each SLD to be broken.

  • The full 2015 SLD is available for download (zip 419.1m)
Note: Downloading time will vary based on your download speed.

For feedback and proposed changes to the SLD, fill out the corrections/suggestions form (pdf 140k) and submit the form to DOT-BTDS.SLDSupport@dot.nj.gov This email address can also be used to contact staff for any SLD-related questions.
