This section of Route 35 is the primary regional thoroughfare for more than 30,000 vehicles a day. Its safety features, bridge deck, barrier and warning gates are in need of replacement and/or upgrades. |

Local residents and officials have been meeting with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) during the planning and development of this project. For example, local officials determined the bridge color. |

The Higgins Avenue ramp will be closed to traffic during construction. Advance signs will be installed to guide motorists. In addition, variable message signs at each end of the project will provide information to motorists. |

There are no restrictions to access into Point Pleasant Beach. |

One sidewalk and access at either end of the project will be maintained throughout the construction process for pedestrians and bicyclists. Signs and barriers will be installed to protect and advise them throughout the project. |
