The local road that crosses under the Route 1 Bridge has been temporarily closed. As a result, motorists using access roads parallel to Route 1 will not be able to make left turns to cross under the highway. This closure will remain until the substantial completion of the project in Fall 2011.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has recommended an alternate route travel plan for motorists destined for the campuses/properties on either side of the bridge by utilizing the interchange to the north at Ryders Lane and to the south at Routes 1/130.

Rutgers Cook Campus and Agricultural campuses on east and west sides of Route 1

• Motorists traveling from one campus to another should use Ryders Lane interchange to cross Route 1.

DeVry/Ross Universities and Silver Line Windows and Doors

Motorists traveling to the campus/Silver Line from Route 1 south should:

• Proceed through the construction zone and follow U-turn signs at the Route 1/130 interchange.
• Proceed onto Route 1 north and get in the rightmost lane that funnels traffic onto an access road parallel to the highway.
• Proceed to campus/Silver Line Drive on right.

Motorists departing the campus/Silver Line to Route 1 south should:

• Proceed along the access road to enter Route 1 north.
• Follow U-turn signs at Ryders Lane interchange.
• Proceed south on Route 1.

Bristol-Myers Squibb and Technology Centre of New Jersey (TCNJ)

Motorists traveling to Bristol-Myers Squibb/TCNJ from Route 1 north should:

• Proceed through the construction zone and follow U-turn signs at the Ryders Lane interchange.
• Proceed onto Route 1 south and exit at ramps along right lane onto access road.
• Proceed to Bristol-Myers Squibb/TCNJ on right.

Motorists departing Bristol-Myers Squibb/TCNJ to Route 1 north should:

• Proceed along the access road to enter Route 1 south.
• Follow U-turn signs at the Route 1/130 interchange.
• Proceed onto Route 1 north.
