The total cost for this project is an estimated $10.5 million. The project is funded by NJDOT, the Economic Development Administration and Camden County. |

will reflect the needs
of the community as
well as the need to
expedite construction.

Will there be detours and delays? |
A. |
A temporary detour will be implemented during the construction of Phase Two. Flanders Avenue will be closed at westbound Route 30 and Federal Street. Inbound traffic traveling along westbound Route 30 will be directed to Linden Street, to South Tenth Street, to Federal Street, to Newton Avenue to the Gateway Area. To accommodate trucks turning at the intersection of Linden Street and South Tenth Street, Linden Street will be temporarily reduced from four to two lanes by shifting the traffic north into the outer two lanes. Federal Street will be used for other destinations within the City. Outbound traffic to westbound Route 30 will be directed along Newton Avenue, South Eleventh Street and Memorial Avenue. Outbound traffic to eastbound Route 30 will be directed to Federal Street. |

NJ TRANSIT bus service and the River Line are available through the area. Schedule and fare information is available at NJ TRANSIT or by calling 973.275.5555. PATCO service is available within Camden.

Is the community involved? |
A. |
NJDOT has been working with municipal and county officials, adjacent residents in the Gateway neighborhood, police, NJ TRANSIT and William F. Powell Elementary School officials. There have been public hearings and information centers throughout the project.
