NJDOT marks the completion of the $450,000 Route 322 Rowan Boulevard Pedestrian Safety Improvements project

Commissioner Stephen Dilts joined with Assemblyman Fred Madden and Dr. Donald Farish, President of Rowan University, along with other local officials to emphasize a commitment to pedestrian safety in New Jersey. Reinforcing existing programs and introducing new programs to improve pedestrian safety conditions, on the campus of Rowan University. NJDOT recently completed a $450,000 Route 322 Rowan Boulevard Pedestrian Safety Improvements project at the location.

Commissioner Stephen Dilts joined with local officials to break ground on the start of construction on the new Route 52 Causeway Contract B connecting Ocean City with Somers Point. The $251 million project will replace the two lift bridges at each end of the Route 52 Causeway. One of the largest current NJDOT projects; it is critical because it affects the evacuation route for Ocean City. ARRA stimulus funds are contributing $ 70 million for construction. On hand were Assemblyman Matthew Milam, Mayor Jack Glasser of Somers Point, Dennis Merida of FHWA as well as local officials and labor leaders.

Commissioner Stephen Dilts speaks at a groundbreaking event for the Route 30 Cooper River Drainage improvements and resurfacing project, which will help alleviate flooding on Route 30 (Admiral Wilson Boulevard) as well as the local streets along the Cooper River in Camden and Pennsauken. The $7.8 million project is funded by ARRA stimulus monies. Also on hand at the event were Camden City mayor Gwendolyn Faison and Assemblyman Jack Conners.

Governor Corzine joined NJDOT Commissioner Stephen Dilts and dozens of construction workers on as they made final preparations for the opening of a new ramp linking the northbound Garden State Parkway with I-78 westbound in Union Township, saving an estimated 23,000 motorists precious time and fuel every day.

Corzine joined NJDOT Commissioner Stephen Dilts at a press conference to mark the completion of the $200 million roadway reconstruction on Route 18 a major transportation artery that not only provides access to downtown New Brunswick and Rutgers, but regional hospitals, major corporations, local businesses and residential communities.

NJDOT Commissioner Stephen Dilts joined with Congressman Bill Pascrell and Congressman Stephen Rothman to announce that NJDOT will use American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding to resurface approximately eight miles of Route 80 eastbound from west of Madison Avenue to Polify Road in Bergen and Passaic counties. In addition, NJDOT will resurface .75 miles of I-80 westbound in Paterson, Passaic County. Mayor Joe Torres of Paterson and contractor, Joseph Sanzari, were on hand as well.

Corzine to break ground on the landmark $2.5 billion widening of the NJ Turnpike between exits 6 and 9 at a press event held in East Windsor. United States Vice-President Joseph Biden visited the construction site of the new $31.5 million Route 46 Main Street reconstruction in Lodi to break ground on the project, whose construction is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and will create and support hundreds of jobs. NJDOT Commissioner Stephen Dilts recognized 353 employers as 2008-2009 New Jersey Smart Workplaces at a ceremony held in Newark. The Smart Workplaces program applauds employers that provide commuter benefits to help employees address limited or expensive parking, reduce traffic congestion, improve employee recruiting and retention, and minimize the environmental impacts associated with drive-alone commuting.

The $63 million interchange improvement project will eliminate the existing traffic circle and replace it with a new overpass carrying Route 73 over Route 70 in Evesham Township. Governor Corzine announces the Record of Decision for the ARC Mass Transit Tunnel project

NJDOT Commissioner Stephen Dilts joined Governor Jon S. Corzine to announce the award of a Record of Decision (ROD) for the ARC Mass Transit Tunnel project by the Federal Transit Administration at a press conference held at the Frank R. Lautenberg Transfer Station in Secaucus. The issuance of the ROD signals the end of the federal review and environmental process. The project is now poised to begin property acquisition and final design as well as ready to receive federal funding.
