Reinforcing steel is being tied for a typical approach footing. Thirty five steel pipe piles, each 24" in diameter, are driving to support the footing. The piles are filled with concrete and extend into the bottom of the footing by one foot. |

Work on the balanced cantilever continue on the north side of the channel. The main span provides a 354 foot channel. The swing span truss will be removed when the balanced cantilever is completed. |

Erecting the main span balanced cantilever at Pier 16 has begun with the pier table. The southbound structure was completed in only 15 months. |

Piles have been driven for the northbound half of the footing at Pier 9. The reinforcing steel is being tied for this 425 cubic yard concrete pour. |
